Just how good are Serotta bikes? One of our other frame builders refers to Ben Serotta himself as “The Master”! Ben started building custom frames in 1972, and in a few short years had pioneered the first Size Cycle, developed the first aero pursuit frames, and had become the frame builder of choice for the US Olympic Cycling Team. Thirty six years later Serotta continues to lead the way in pioneering no-compromise, cutting edge frames using the highest quality materials, all built custom with unparalleled precision, all still hand built in Saratoga Springs, NY from steel, titanium, carbon fiber, and mixed materials.
In 2001 Serotta launched the Ottrott, a frame which uses tubes of titanium and carbon fiber depending upon their location in the frame. The concept was to take advantage of the inherent benefits each material provides. This groundbreaking design has often been copied by other builders, but never matched.

Going back to the early days of Serotta, Ben knew that how a material was used is of at least as much importance as what that material is. In that tradition, Serotta took control of the manufacturing of its own composites in 2007. This gives Serotta more ability to tune the ride of their bikes than any other frame manufacturer has ever had.
